August 13th - 19th, Minnesota Baby will be doing daily reviews and giveaways of some popular pre-packaged baby and toddler foods. From Plum Organics to Target's Up & Up Baby Food, our one-year-old daughter, Linna, has been sampling seven brands for about a month, and Mama Saigh will be sharing our thoughts on each brand's packaging, pricing, taste, nutrition, and "baby-appeal". Every day this week (Monday through Sunday), we'll be giving away a food prize-pack to one of our blog followers (make sure you follow our blog for your chance to win). Details about each day's giveaway will be on our Minnesota Baby Facebook page.
Disclaimer: I am not a food scientist or a doctor (even though I'd like to think of myself as such). This is NOT a sponsored review. All of the reviews during Minnesota Baby's "7 Days of Baby Food" are our own opinions (mom and baby - yes, mom tried the foods too). All of the baby food brands we are reviewing provided us with a giveaway. We'd love to hear your thoughts on the baby foods we'll be reviewing, because as we all know, everyone has their own personal opinions. Thanks for reading our reviews, and good luck on winning one of our 7 giveaways!
TODAY'S REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: ELLA'S KITCHEN
We love love LOVE Ella's Kitchen pre-packaged baby food pouches! They have so many nutritious fruit, veggie, and grain combinations, and our one-year-old will eat any of them. They combine things like spinach, rutabagas, pumpkin, parsnips, and other veggies I don't normally cook with, to make delicious and nutritious food pouches that my daughter never turns down. We also love the Baby Brekkies, which blend organic fruit purees, natural yogurt and whole-grain rice, to provide the perfect mix for your little one to start his or her day off right (or just give them as a lunch or dinner like we do). There's nothing artificial, no gluten, and they don't add sugar or salt. The ingredients are simple and organic. We also love the smaller fruit smoothies, with names like "The Red One", "The Green One", etc. Ella's Kitchen pouches are priced higher than the store brands, and a few of the other name brands, so we always pick a bunch of these pouches up when they go on sale. Plus, if you use your Target Red Card, you'll save an additional 5% if you get them at Target. The packaging is bold, which really stands out, and the names of the foods are written like a child might write it, and that is pretty cute. They kind of look like the Earth's Best brand, but I think Ella's Kitchen has better food combos. Ella's Kitchen comes in a close second to Happy Family brand for our family, simply because it is a little bit higher priced!
GIVEAWAY: We're giving away an Ella's Kitchen food-pack to one of our Minnesota Baby blog followers. For your chance to win, simply follow our blog and answer today's question (comment on the blog post). One winner will be selected at random by 10 p.m. Friday. Good luck!
