Thursday's "7 days of baby food" giveaway.

August 13th - 19th, Minnesota Baby will be doing daily reviews and giveaways of some popular pre-packaged baby and toddler foods. From Plum Organics to Target's Up & Up Baby Food, our one-year-old daughter, Linna, has been sampling seven brands for about a month, and Mama Saigh will be sharing our thoughts on each brand's packaging, pricing, taste, nutrition, and "baby-appeal". Every day this week (Monday through Sunday), we'll be giving away a food prize-pack to one of our blog followers (make sure you follow our blog for your chance to win). Details about each day's giveaway will be on our Minnesota Baby Facebook page.

Disclaimer: I am not a food scientist or a doctor (even though I'd like to think of myself as such). This is NOT a sponsored review. All of the reviews during Minnesota Baby's "7 Days of Baby Food" are our own opinions (mom and baby - yes, mom tried the foods too). All of the baby food brands we are reviewing provided us with a giveaway. We'd love to hear your thoughts on the baby foods we'll be reviewing, because as we all know, everyone has their own personal opinions. Thanks for reading our reviews, and good luck on winning one of our 7 giveaways!

TODAY'S REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: HAPPY FAMILY

Happy Family is another one of the first pre-packaged baby foods we fed our daughter, and we're still feeding it to her today! The first thing I love about this brand is all the options they offer! We've tried the puffs, fruit and veggie pouches, Happy Tots and Happy Tot Plus Pouches, and Happy Tot Toddler Meal Bowls. We have not found a Happy Tot product that Linna doesn't like (and Mama Saigh loves that their products are super healthy). When it comes to the toddler meals we've tried, Happy Tot's Toddler Meal Bowls are Linna's favorite! They have meals such as vegetable ravioli, chicken, vegetables & quinoa, and super beefy pasta. The vegetable ravioli is Linna's favorite, and after I tried it, I can see why she likes it so much. We also love their variety of fruits and vegetables in their pre-packaged food pouches. They have vegetables that I wouldn't normally cook into our meals, so I love that Linna can be exposed to these veggies, mixed with a little bit of fruit. The Happy Family website also provides families with extensive nutritional information and guidelines, and I love that they have "Happy Moms" in our community. Happy Family representitives are at a lot of events in the Twin Cities area, and they hand out coupons almost everywhere they go. So even though the Happy Family products can be more expensive than the store brand (about $1.50 - $2.00 for a 4.22 oz. pouch), coupons will lower the price for you! You can also "like" the Happy Family facebook page to get great coupons. Many of the pouches have the "super grain" Salba, which naturally has omega-3 fatty acids. We are BIG fans of Happy Family foods!

GIVEAWAY: We're giving away a Happy Family food-pack to one of our
Minnesota Baby blog followers. For your chance to win, simply follow our blog and answer today's question (comment on the blog post). One winner will be selected at random by 10 p.m. Thursday. Good luck!

  1. Some type of a lined paper packet that is more "green" than the pouches.

  5. Probably greener pouches that use less plastic or refillable containers that you can put baby food in that can be washed.

  6. Maybe reusable pouches??? Recyclable pouches? Maybe we can recycle them and get a few cents back each time???

  8. They could introduce larger pouches, maybe 16-20 ounces, then you wouldn't have to buy so many indiviual serving packets.
