One year ago today.

Photo taken one year ago today.
Let's just say that one year ago today, I was HUGE! At 38 weeks pregnant and over 200 lbs. (I can't believe how much weight I gained during my pregnancy), my husband and I decided to take a two-mile walk (one mile there and one mile back) to Caribou Coffee. I was determined to "walk my baby out". A week prior, I had been in the hospital twice with false labor contractions. If we were going to go to the hospital again, I was going to leave with a baby!

Around 10 p.m. a year ago today, I laid in bed and felt my baby tickling my ribs her her feet. I remember laying there saying, "Oh my gosh baby, you are going to break my ribs!". A couple minutes later... SPLASH... my water broke. I hopped out of bed so fast, yelled down to AJ (he was having a cocktail and watching TV - go figure) that my water had just broke. FINALLY, this baby was really coming! We were off to the hospital! I don't know if I've ever shared this video before, but it's video (maybe TMI for some - sorry, you looked) of my husband's reaction after my water broke (TOO funny - and yes, I was video-recording while sitting on the toilet after my water broke):

I blogged about the experience, and looking back on it today makes it literally seem like it just happened yesterday! I also blogged through my labor. I can't believe my baby will be ONE tomorrow!

In the hospital, blogging, one year ago today.

  1. This is awesome! I wish I didn't have to be induced and have gone naturally to film my husband, what a great idea!! Thanks, maybe and idea for our next one!
